Our Course Key Facts:
Training starts and ends at any location you wish
We can provide training at multiple sites across Barbados
All tutors are BDTAS (Barbados Driver Training Advisory Services) Trained and Registered
Costs:
Our most popular course is the 3.5hr on-road session, which costs $350.00 per driver, with discounts for larger numbers. However, if you are planning on training 20 or more drivers, we offer a shorter 2hr 20 min on-road course for just $240 a driver. The same things are covered on the 3.5hr sessions vs 2hr 20 min session. However, the 3.5hr sessions allow longer to train a driver and is selected by around 80% of clients. We also have a 7hr course per driver, which costs $480.00.
As with the 3.5hr and 2hr 20 min course, the same things are covered on a full day, but our tutor has longer with the driver to help iron out bad habits, and longer to introduce and practice various advanced driving techniques. Ideal for more at-risk drivers.
.
Benefits of Our Advanced/Defensive Driver Training:
Increase the level of driver safety in your fleet
Demonstrate your Duty of Care as a business
Lower fleet costs, including insurance, repair, and fuel costs
Boost the morale of your drivers
Identify and address elevated risk drivers in your fleet
Improve the reputation of your business, especially if you have company branded vehicles
If you are looking to train 1 to 4 drivers, you can do this online via our booking system.

The High-Risk Driver Training program provides intense, personalized training for drivers with a history of contraventions and/or collisions (Level 3).
The High-Risk Driver Training program is conducted during a normal business day to keep your driver productive and to give the trainer an accurate view of the driver's normal routine.
The course takes a positive approach that demonstrates your company’s interest in employee safety. Throughout the day, the instructor observes your driver’s skills on the road and looks for areas needing improvement. The instructor also provides practical advice on the spot – offering tips the driver can use immediately to help make them a better...safer driver.
At the end of the day the instructor and driver review key problem areas observed and proven strategies for addressing each, while the instructor secures your driver’s commitment to improvement.
Our instructor also provides a comprehensive written report to management, detailing the findings and providing documentation of your efforts. The report is an excellent tool for managers to use in following up with the driver on specific safety issues.

We are often approached by individuals that have been asked by their employers to take an advanced/defensive driving course for a range of reasons, all of which we can help with, which often include:
Company Policy– More and more companies are asking drivers, especially those who drive high annual miles, to complete an advanced driving course. We are here to help if you need to arrange a course.
High Collision Rate/New Motoring Conviction– If you are having a high incident rate, or have had a motoring conviction, or new points on your licence, you may have been asked by your employer to book an advanced/defensive driving course. We can arrange a course and send you your post course report conveniently via email a few days after.
New Employee– Often companies prefer a new driver takes an advanced/defensive driving course as part of their induction. If you are new to the company, we can quickly arrange a training session.
Young Driver– Many fleet insurers require a young driver to take an advanced/defensive driving course before driving company vehicles. We can train a driver aged 17+ as long as you have a full driving licence.
How a Course Runs:
All our courses are road-based and take place in a driver’s own or company vehicle. The course is personalized and based on the needs of the driver, although it follows a set format, which covers:
An Initial Drive– This allows our tutors to assess the drivers level of experience and skill after the initial introductions and vehicle safety checks. We ask a driver to drive the way they normally do with no input from the tutor, for around 20 minutes.
We then mark them in 25 areas of driving, either Excellent, Very Good, Good, Adequate or Poor. This forms an excellent basis to build on the session, as both the driver and tutor can see the areas, which need most development. This helps create a truly personalized training session.
Coaching– Based on the initial drive, the coaching will be designed around the needs and requirements of the driver, in an interactive and enjoyable way. We will be driving on a range of roads including urban driving, out of town (rural) driving, and highway/dual carriageways. During this session there will be the chance for two-way feedback, along with opportunities to recap what has been covered.
Debrief– At the end of the course there will be a two way debrief, where the tutor will provide feedback on the session, and where feedback from the driver is also encouraged. The tutor will again mark the driver on the 25 driving areas, which were looked at on the initial drive, making it extremely easy to see how the driver has improved, to what extent, and in what areas.
We provide a risk assessment for each driver at the end, which will be High, Medium, or Low risk. A pdf report will be sent to you around 3 days after each training session.

We cover a wide range of elements with our courses, which includes:
Forward planning, observation, and anticipation

Practical Driver Assessment
Our on-road driver risk assessments are a practical way to assess the level of risk of company drivers. The assessment is carried out with a qualified driving assessor. This approach provides drivers with a fantastic opportunity for discussion and practical learning. We all assume that we can drive well, but it’s a skill that is earned through experience. Unfortunately, bad habits may also develop in our driving skills. A small percentage of drivers are responsible for a large percentage of collisions. Most of those drivers exhibit poor driving behaviour long before the collisions occur. It is important that companies ascertain the amount of hazard perception, behaviour and driving knowledge of their employees. If these levels are poor, and thus high risk, consideration should tend to defensive driver training or specialized training for specific driving risks.

Course Content:
We cover a wide range of elements with our courses, which includes:
Forward planning, observation, and anticipation
